Hey, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What have you been up to over the past year in this big old mess?

Thanks for having me! It’s a pleasure to chat with you guys . The past year was quite hectic for me, but in a good way with making music, auditions, and Film school. I set out to finish my University degree in Film Production while juggling the production of my debut EP “Skin & Bones” and the creation of two music videos, JULY 19 and BEFORE IT ENDS. Both videos are available on my YouTube channel.

I’m very interested in how you started your adventure with music, and did you know from the beginning that this is what you wanted to do?

When I was very young, I wanted to become a singer but there were no singing classes offered in my secluded home town Alternatively, my mother enrolled me in acting classes which ignited my interest in pursuing a career in cinema. Making music is still very new to me, but it is something I’ve dreamed of for so long that it feels very organic. I’ve somehow always been writing lyrics in my journals, researching ideas, and recording voice memos on my phone because I inevitably held tight to my young self who dreamed of recording and performing music.. The covid lockdown was actually beneficial in my case as it allowed me to delve deeper into the music production scene, making new contacts along the way.

Congrats on the release of ‘Skin & Bones’, the EP sounds great. What was the inspiration behind it?

The keyword behind the making of this EP is exploration . Since I’m new at making music, I wanted to approach each song individually without limiting myself to a specific style or theme. I’m still establishing my style as a musical artist so it was important to treat this EP as a discovery project.. The title says it: it’s raw, and each song stands on its own; all very different from each other.

What’s your favorite track on the EP and why?

MEADOW LANE!!!! Because It has this sassy pop-rock groove to it and the lines are very catchy. When I heard the final mix, I was over the moon!

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

A trick I use to ensure constant development as an artist is to keep my notebook handy and staying proactive in jotting down new lyrics and general ideas. I’m also a firm believer in continuing to improve my technique by taking guitar and singing classes on the side.

What should we expect from your next releases in terms of style and sound?

How different are they going to be compared to your previous works? My musical style has shifted toward bedroom pop and pop-rock with real instruments. I love the sound of the electrical guitar and authentic drums. My songs are mostly lyric driven but I’m getting much better at structuring and writing music which I think will bring more vocal freedom to my upcoming projects.

Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?

I’m based in Montreal, but I would say that I get much of my inspiration from the Anglo musical scene which is plentiful in this artistic city.. Montreal has a great music festival scene which helps in the discovery of new artists.

If you could perform at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

This is a great question! I honestly never thought about it because I’m just starting as a musician so I’m just picturing myself doing small shows for now. I would love to perform at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn because it’s a cozy and charismatic venue in NY. For larger audiences, I would love to perform at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. New York is like my second home as I lived there for a little while so I definitely hope to perform there in the coming years.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for 2023?

My plan for 2023 is to start performing in small venues in my city and hopefully elsewhere in Canada. I also have a few collaborations lined up that I’m really excited about and a few songs are already in production for a future album.
