London-born Simone Johnson, aka Monie Love, was featured on Queen Lafitah’s single “Ladies First” while still a teen, she also collaborated with De La Soul and The Jungle Bros with whom she joined the Native Tongue collective along side fellow group A Tribe Called Quest. After Down to Earth, Love issued In a Word or Two, which included production by PRINCE in 1993.

Yes and yes! We love everything about Monie Love’s latest collaboration with Nana Fofie. Titled’ 1NE People’, the new single is a gem from the inside out. Everything from the verses to the hook, and the distinctive and rich vocals needs your attention from the start to finish. It’s a really original record but more importantly, it highlights the unique writing style that we really love and appreciate.
