In the realm of musical creations, Kevin Zarnett weaves a mesmerizing tapestry of songs, crafted for the souls who embrace their uncoolness. His compositions are like ethereal glimpses into the realms of love, heartache and yearning. Each note, a whisper that beckons listeners into a world of emotional resonance. Zarnett’s artistry extends an open invitation to all with an unpretentious and accessible approach to songwriting. Through introspective ballads and cleverly woven acoustic pop, he lures his audience into a state of tranquil captivation, leaving them eager to unveil the mysteries that lie ahead. Originating from the enchanting town of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Zarnett emerges as a musical alchemist, captivating his listeners with profound details of his innermost self. His mastery of the guitar adds a touch of intricacy to his sonic landscapes, while his authentic voice forms a profound connection with those who lend an ear to his melodic storytelling.

Zarnett recently released Letting You Break My Heart which is a five-song EP. The first is the title track “Letting You Break My Heart” which is nostalgic but also contemporary in many ways. It’s a fantastic tune which embraces elements of ’50s pop and ’60s psychedelic. The instrumentation is very well done but it’s ultimately the vocals that had most of my attention.

Get ready to soar on the wings of “My Life As A Paper Plane,” a tender ballad that gently cradles your soul. The heart of this melodic journey lies within the enchanting fusion of piano and vocals, yet it’s the skillful incorporation of atmospheric elements that takes emotions to celestial heights.

And then, like a warm embrace, “Hey Elisa!” graces us with its captivating presence. The guitar weaves a melodious tapestry, while the drums and distant bells add a touch of ethereal beauty to the instrumentation. As the vocals take center stage once more, Zarnett’s artistry strikes an irresistible chord, capturing hearts with its exquisite resonance.

“I’ll Be Yours” might be my personal favorite. The band Lord Huron came to mind on this one. There’s a sense of loneliness on this track that was exceptionally crafted and the vocals soar. Last up is “Letting You Down” which starts with an intimate performance and holds till the end.

This is a near perfect listening experience. Start with the first track and just let it ride.
