Hey, super nice to have the chance to chat with you. What have you been up to over the past year in this big old mess?

Thank you so much for having me on! This past year certainly has been a big mess, hasn’t it? During all of this craziness I have been tirelessly working, producing, and promoting my debut album, “Paper House.”

I’m very interested in how you started your adventure with music, and did you know from the beginning that this is what you wanted to do?

I knew from a very young age that music was a passion I wanted to pursue. It all began in 2004 when I tuned into a new disney show, “Hannah Montana.” Watching someone live a double life as a normal person but also as a singer inspired me to pursue music as my own. From then on my mind was not going to be changed; I signed up for talent shows in my community and school, I sang at my church, and my mother even payed for me  to have voice lessons.

Congrats on the release of ‘Paper House’, the album sounds great. What was the inspiration behind it?

Paper House first came to me as an idea when I first heard the term. A paper house is actually a metaphor referring to the hypothetical “house” of your future, usually in discussion with a significant other. I felt this metaphor deeply relate to a previous longterm relationship. It wasn’t particularly new or exciting but we were engaged and planning our wedding. We would talk about our “paper house” often, even before we were engaged. When everything went south, the only thing I could do to find true comfort was write songs. Just using songwriting to tell my stories helped with healing so much.

What’s your favorite track on the album and why?

Ooooo that’s a really good question! My favorite track is Debutaunte Balls. It was such a fun song to write. The track is simple yet fits the melody of the lyrics. As a storyteller, it was enthralling to share an emotional moment in my life where a part of my relationship was filled with isolation, but I’m telling it in such a happy way that you almost miss the depressing undertones of the song. This is actually how I handle any of the depressing moments of my life, with humor.

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop as an artist?

I challenge myself as a song writer and as a musician. I save any and all ideas that come to my head and frequently express these thoughts with friends to keep it all fresh. Also, I make it a point to get out of my comfort zone and network with as many awesome artist as possible. It’s about making the world a better place with creativity.

What should we expect from your next releases in terms of style and sound? How different are they going to be compared to your previous works?

That’s a secret for a later date 😉

Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?

I am based in Nashville Tennessee. It’s literally Music City! There’s inspiration around every bar, pub and venue. Literally everywhere. Writer’s Nights every night of the week, every venue is filled with ripe history, and every soul has a story to tell.

If you could perform at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

I’d be ahooting for the stars, but I’d say Yhe Grammy’s. It would be the one night where every single person that has inspired me and my music to see me perform. Whether they would be in the crowd or at home tuning in.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for 2023?

Absolutely! I’m currently planning some upcoming shows in the summer leading into the fall. I’m also planning on releasing some collaborations with numerous other artists later this year.
