You recently released your latest single ‘Haunt Me’ and it’s brilliant. For anyone who’s yet to hear it, how would you describe the track?

We love vintage synths and tried to capture the nostalgic textures of 80’s dance/funk melodies. While the song is mostly upbeat, we still wanted the progression to ebb and flow. The concept of “Haunt Me” evokes the questions: Who is capable of achieving a love that transcends death? Who could love so intensely, that they would desire to be haunted by their loved one? We tried to cater the music video in a way that would answer these questions. The lyrics of the song mirror these ideas in the chorus “Tell me you want me, die and then haunt me.”

Where did you record it?

“Haunt Me” was recorded with our awesome friend Jeremiah Nave in Nashville, Tennessee at his home studio.

Your music interweaves so many different styles and sounds. If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Some bands that come to mind are Jamiroquai, L’Impératrice, and Young the Giant. But if we have to pick just one, it would definitely be Unknown Mortal Orchestra (UMO). UMO has a very unique sound and process in the making of their albums. They experiment with sonic sounds and textures that we’ve rarely heard replicated from other artists. Their music feels familiar, but also fresh.

What’s been your favorite musical experience to date?

The greatest musical experience we’ve had so far is creating our debut album. Working on our debut album with our producer these past two years has allowed us to work with a TON of incredibly talented artists (Jacob Tipton, Miqui Gutierrez, Jimmy Lopez, Nick Davidson, Roy Agee). We’ve learned so much information about the value of creating music from these people. Working with our producer and these artists heavily influenced the way we built the album. It’s an experience we’ll never take for granted.

Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?

We are based in Johnson City, Tennessee. Our area typically showcases folk, blues, and classic rock. However, in the last few years there have been more diverse genres cultivating in our area. This really encouraged us to try and develop a sound that was different.

Can you write what was the best performance in your career? How do you remember it?

The best performance of our career was at the end of 2020. Music venues had just begun to allow live bands and audiences inside again after the COVID lockdown. We had the opportunity to open for an incredible local band named “The Kindest People” and the energy that night was just AWESOME. Everyone was just so happy to be around music and other people.

Can we expect a new EP or an album from you in the near future?

Yes! We are so excited to release our debut album in 2023.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for 2023?

We are currently in the process of booking more shows outside of our area. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, etc…for the latest news on live shows. We plan on releasing our debut album this year and delivering much more content to our fans in the near future!
