Blindsight is a fresh discovery for me, and their album Channel Normal is what initially caught my ear. Their sonic palette is a fusion of cinematic grandeur, hefty beats, guitars, electronic elements and more.

The track “Walls” immediately stood out, evoking a futuristic vibe with its AI-infused cyberpunk sound and an edgy undertone. Amidst the futuristic elements, the song also manages to incorporate intimate moments seamlessly.

Another standout, “Cemetery Outlet,” boasts cutting-edge production that pushes the boundaries. The dark, gothic vocals create an intriguing contrast, adding depth to the overall experience.

As I delved further into the album, I found numerous commendable moments. However, “Jake’s Story/Glorious Chaos” emerged as a personal favorite, occupying a sonic space somewhere between two electronic titans, Burial and Aphex Twin.

In a musical landscape often saturated with familiar sounds, Blindsight shines as a refreshing addition. Their sonic explorations on Channel Normal serves as a testament to their innovative spirit. With a penchant for experimentation that resonates with the ethos of renowned labels like Warp Records, Blindsight is poised to carve out a distinctive niche in the industry, offering listeners a compelling journey into uncharted musical territories.
