Hi! You recently released ‘Me My Body And I’ and it’s brilliant. For anyone who’s yet to hear it, how would you describe the track?

‘Me My Body And I’ has been written as an ‘Instant Empowering Confidence Boosting’ song that a Kid can listen to when they  suddenly feel depressed/low/sad or just down. After listening to it I hope it takes away all negative thoughts and empowers the Kid to ‘just carry on with their life’. It’s just like ‘a vocal pick-me-up’, you take it ‘when you need it’!

Where did you record it?

I was very lucky, I worked with Martin Smith from ELO at his East Grinstead Studio. He has now moved to Birmingham. He is a truly great producer.

Are you planning to make it part of a larger release, such as an EP or album?

‘Me My Body And I’ is the 2nd song on an Album I am very proud of, called, ‘Causes’, which has six songs on it, about such important issues as:

‘Self Harming, Suicide, FGM, Bullying, Losing Control and Global Warming’.

‘Causes ‘ Album got to No 4 on iTunes on Oct 6th 2020 and got through to the 64th Grammy Nominations.

I’m very interested in how you started your adventure with music, and did you know from the beginning that this is what you wanted to do?

I left school ( no Uni for me) with many choices, complimented on my storytelling, (not just for being late :-), also playing football for The West of Kent, promised trials for Brighton FC, but my ambition was to be a great guitarist. I went months without school dinners/lunches, or any dinners, saving the money to get my first best guitar when I was 12 yrs old. Writing songs and playing Gigs, but left school and into a local office job, and then did what teenagers do, sent off football pitch too many times, stopped playing the guitar as much, started playing at life ‘too much’, drinking, girls and leaving home, it all went Pete Tong. But now I’m back.

Your music interweaves so many different styles and sounds. If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

I Love meeting and talking to singers and songwriters that have music running through their veins, they are so interesting and so passionate about this art, they are my heroes, so Stevie Wonder!

What’s been your favorite musical experience to date?

Having ‘Me My Body And I put into all the Schools in Croydon, Surrey by the Croydon Education Dept and Leethan  Bartholomew  of the National FGM Centre accepting this song, because FGM is mentioned in the song.

Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?

I come from Croydon in Surrey, but London is more the music scene for me.

If you could perform at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

It has to be Glastonbury !!!

And what was the first album you remember owning?

I’m not an Album guy, I’m too hyper, I like Hit records, songs that knock you out of the ballpark straight away the first time you hear them. I have bought a lot of Albums, but usually just for ‘one song’ on it.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for 2023?

I did okay in 2022, my aim now is to achieve much more in 2023, but there is so much I need to do and want to do and time is tight !

You can do so much with songs, and I believe that my song, called, ‘You Don’t Look Cool’ By Teenagers’, ( The Brit School. Kids telling Kids It’s not cool to smoke/drugs) can help to dissuade Kids from smoking/Drugs when they understand and realise that they’re being tricked and conned by Big Business and the Tax Man.
