Hi! You recently released ‘Feel Like Home’ and it’s brilliant. For anyone who’s yet to hear it, how would you describe the track?

Thank you for your sweet words! The song is about finding love that feels as great as all the feelings of a small town/ hometown. It’s a song that has the energy of a packed stadium under Friday night lights. I really love this one!

Where did you record it?

I recorded my vocals in Nashville with my producer and co-writer Gavin Slateand Ryan recorded his vocals in Toronto.

Are you planning to make it part of a larger release, such as an EP or album?

Yes! I am currently in the midst of working on my sophomore EP which is so exciting! I love these new songs so much.

I’m very interested in how you started your adventure with music, and did you know from the beginning that this is what you wanted to do?

I definitely knew from a young age that I was meant to do this. At around age 9 I was fairly involved with singing in church and started going to singing competitions where I learned a lot about being on stage. In high school I started to do smaller gigs and started writing – and it just kept growing from there. It hasn’t been easy – there’s been many ups and downs – but I am really proud of where I am and so grateful for my team that is on this journey with me and I owe them so much of the success so far.

Your music interweaves so many different styles and sounds. If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

I would love to collaborate with Carrie Underwood! She is a huge inspiration to me.

What’s been your favorite musical experience to date?

I would say playing the Country Music Awards here in Ontario this past June was really special. It was my first time being up for the awards and it just felt amazing to be recognized.

Where are you based? Can you tell us how the music scene there has inspired your sound at all?

I am based out of Hamilton, Ontario – however, I have only lived here for a year now. I would say my roots of growing up on a dairy farm in a small town have influenced me more than anything. Especially from a songwriting standpoint.

If you could perform at any venue in the world, where would it be and why?

The Grand Ole Opry! This is a huge icon in the country music world and I have had my eyes set on this for a long time. The day this comes will be really really special.

And what was the first album you remember owning?

Shania Twain, Come On Over.

Finally, have you got anything to share regarding upcoming gigs, and what have you got planned for the rest of 2023?

Lots of new music is in the works! I am going on a radio tour this fall so I will be all over the country which will be a lot of fun! I am also playing some shows in September in connection with the Canadian Country Music Awards, and opening for Gord Bamford in Peterborough in October. It’s going to be a great fall.
